My Final Class Assignment
Well,we've made it to the end of the spring semester and it is bitter sweet for me. I have really enjoyed exploring all of the new technology and now I'll have to learn on my own (that's the bitter)but,(wait for it....wait for it....) it's Summertime!!!!(yep!!! you guessed it, that's the sweeeeeeeeeeet!). Okay, so I only get a 5 day official break before my summer classes begin, it's the principle of the thing that matters anyway. I can come home from class and bar-be-que,it will still be light outside at 9:00pm. It's time for fireflys, tall cool glasses of lemonade and best of all, BASEBALL,BASEBALL,and more BASEBALL. Oh,but I digress, the last technology assignment I choose was to create a slideshow (complete with music)using "Animoto". I enjoyed using this site, creating my video slideshow presentation was quick and easy. First, I uploaded some photo's from an Indians game I attended last summer (this was only a matter of locating my photos on my hard drive and clicking the upload button). Next, I had the option of uploading music from my personal audio library(that's what I did using my "Limewire" file sharing program)or using their audio library. The "Animoto" audio library seemed to have selections from many genres including jazz and oldies which was very nice. After I uploaded my chosen song (which again was done at the touch of a button)I was completely finished. The only problem is that you only get to make a 30second video for free, but for $3.00 you can create a full length video or if you are willing to pay $30.00 you can create unlimited full length videos for an entire year. Check out my show at the bottom of the page. Have a great summer everybody, and thanks professor for a great class.

HELLO

Hello,
welcome to my blog. I wanted to use my very first post as an opportunity to introduce myself and tell you a little about the challenges facing someone like me who is learning to use new technology.
I am a part-time childcare provider and full-time student currently working towards an undergrad degree in education. I started my educational journey a few years ago and I was immediately thrust into the world of technology. I had not attended school in years and back in the "stone ages", we used something called a typewriter to complete our papers(I never learned to type and I always had to pay my sisters to type papers for me), so you can imagine my surprise when I was first introduced to a computer.
I've made a lot of mistakes along the technology road to get to this point, but I'm here. I have written more papers that I care to recall. I own an Ipod, cellphone, web cam, and more. I can upload, download, rip, and burn media in various formats and now I AM BLOGGER!!! Wow, who knew? My blog will eventually be all about summer and I'm really looking forward to that. I love music and I was able to find this very nice free application so that I can enjoy all of my favorite music. I'm really enjoying getting out of my comfort zone and learning about all of the things that will be available to me both now and down the road in my own classroom, blogging will be one of the many way I plan to involve both my students and their families in the learning process.
